Intro to Encaustic Painting

Service Description

Learn to paint with natural beeswax, damar resin, and fire to create an archival piece of fine art. Students will learn about the history of encaustics, how to make encaustic medium, mix colors, use different fuse methods, create different textures, and employ best safety practices. Take home two, 8" x 10" paintings on wood panels - ready to frame. All materials are provided. Snacks and beverages provided. Please advise of any food restrictions. Ages 12+ Two students minimum.
