Learn the craft of candle making and explore creative reuse in this guided 2-hour workshop developed especially for Girl Scout Troops. Girls will begin by blending essential oils to design their own custom scent. Each scout will then hand-pour a 7 to 8 ounce soy wax candle, selecting either a classic cotton wick or a wood wick for an ambient crackle and glow. While candles cure, scouts will begin their second activity - crafting a unique quilt square from recycled paper. Each square reflects the maker's personality and style and can be joined together with others to form a collaborative troop quilt - celebrating self expression, team work, and sustainability.
